During the Holidays, our CEO/ Founder Sandra Muvdi will venture on a 5-day challenge trek to reach the ‘end of the world’ to help children fight cancer. She will tackle the iconic W-Trek in Torres del Paine located in the southernmost part of the Chilean Patagonia (close to Antarctica). The demanding trek is 50 miles long and involves up to 9-hour hiking days, 9,000 feet climbs, crossing a river and ice hiking on Grey Glacier.

Sandra lost her only child to cancer and is a cancer survivor herself, so her trek is a tribute to those going through treatment, survivors and those who have lost their battle with cancer. Her self-funded backpacking adventure begins on December 21st and includes spending Christmas among new friends she will meet on the circuit and at Refugios (rustic hostels).

During JJCCF’s 20th Anniversary year our Founder decided to get out of her comfort zone to honor cancer-stricken children spending the Holidays in the hospital. We invite you to support the challenge she is undertaking pushing her mind and body to the limits in the wilds of Patagonia. 100% of your donation will become emergency financial assistance and supportive care for families fighting pediatric cancer.

The goal is to raise $20,000 by December 27, 2024. Together, we are confident she can reach the goal so JJCCF can continue providing "lifeline support" for families battling childhood cancer.

*Stay tuned for WPLG Local 10 "Mom-to-Mom" News coverage before/ after the challenge trek. Although no phone signal and limited Wi-Fi in Torres del Paine, when possible, Sandra will post photos and updates on our Facebook and Instagram Page.

Over the past 20 years, JJCCF has been a beacon of hope and support for families navigating the many challenges of pediatric cancer. Since inception, JJCCF has raised over $5.3 million and helped 7,300 children and family members fight cancer. JJCCF is committed to providing supportive care services and emergency financial assistance to help families pay for everyday necessities (i.e., rent, food, medical, electricity). Our purpose is to help bridge the gap between mainstream and disadvantaged families fighting childhood cancer so that all children can have an equal chance of beating this disease.
